FreeWire’s Mobi DC Fast Charger, announced earlier this year, has just received a significant boost. The battery-backed fast charger now delivers 50kW, upgraded from 40kW. A typical EV, such as the Nissan Leaf, would be fully charged in under 40 minutes.

Even at the new rapid rate of energy delivery, all the necessary infrastructure is encased within the Mobi. “It is important to have a flexible option for EV charging. We’re seeing increasing support for electric vehicles. Additional public charging stations, especially ones along a highway stretch, will surely change the traffic patterns. We have the opportunity to not only anticipate the best placement based on existing traffic patterns, but with a mobile fast charging system like the Mobi, we can also easily adapt as it changes” said Arcady, founder and CEO of FreeWire.

The upgraded Mobi DC Fast Charger will make its debut at the seventh Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM7), held in Union Square, San Francisco on June 1st and 2nd. Ministers from across the globe will gather to follow-up on the climate discussions at COP21 in Paris. Electric vehicles will certainly be one of the topics of focus. This is the first year that innovative clean energy solutions will be showcased as a part of CEM. As one of the exhibitors in the showcase, FreeWire will be unveiling the new Mobi DC Fast Charger.
