National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program Key Takeaways and Requirements✕
FreeWire’s Boost Charger 200 has achieved industry-recognized safety certification by Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, MET Labs, qualified by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS). Boost Charger 200 delivers high-power electric vehicle (EV) charging in a battery-integrated design that seamlessly connects to existing infrastructure without burdensome construction costs and permitting restraints. This safety certification allows FreeWire to deploy Boost Charger 200 at scale while ensuring safety and reliability.
Boost Charger 200 is the first technology of its kind to be certified under both EV safety charging standards and energy storage standards. FreeWire’s system is certified to UL2202, UL2231-1, UL2231-2, CAN/CSA-C22.2, and UL991. This suite of safety certifications ensures that all FreeWire products have undergone extensive third-party testing and validation and that the company’s supply chain and manufacturing processes have met rigorous quality standards.
“The global movement towards electrified transportation is accelerating. We must continue to make EV charging faster, more convenient, and more affordable than ever without sacrificing performance. These safety certifications ensure that we’re offering effective solutions at scale while keeping safety our top priority,” said Martin Lynch, Chief Operating Officer at FreeWire Technologies. “I’m proud of the work our team has done not only to develop industry-leading technology, but also to make sure that the products we design and manufacture are held to the highest safety standard.”
Boost Charger 200 has been deployed across the US, Canada, Japan, UK and is rapidly expanding to new locations this year and throughout 2023. For more information on Boost Charger 200, follow this link.
