Arcady is the Founder and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of FreeWire. Prior to founding FreeWire, he spent almost a decade in finance and investment management, most recently at GMO and prior to that BNY Mellon. Arcady holds an MBA from UC Berkeley and an economics degree from Boston University.
Martin Lynch COO
Martin serves as the Chief Operating Officer of FreeWire. Prior to joining FreeWire, he served as the COO of SunLink, a utility-scale solar tracking supplier. He previously directed engineering and operations as an Executive VP at Xicato, a high-end commercial intelligent LED supplier, and was Chief Operating Officer at Cornice, an early-stage micro-HDD start-up. Martin is a 25-year veteran of the disk drive industry, including serving as VP of Engineering for Maxtor’s server product group. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Boston University, as well as several patents in genetic algorithm-based HDD test process systems.
Michael Beer CFO
Michael serves as the Chief Financial Officer of FreeWire. Prior to joining FreeWire, Michael served as Head of Financial Strategy at Luminar Technologies, ushering the company through their go-public transaction (resulting in roughly $1B in total capital raised between 2017-2021). Prior to joining Luminar, Michael spent seven years at Citibank in Hong Kong & Singapore focusing on the Pan-Asia transportation, logistics, and infrastructure space. From 2006-2010, he covered the North American freight transportation sector at Bear Stearns and subsequently Wolfe Research in New York. Michael previously covered the Energy patch and began his career at Goldman Sachs. He has been a frequent contributor to CNBC, Wall Street Journal, FT, Barron’s, South China Morning Post, and the Journal of Commerce, among others. Michael received his undergraduate degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona and completed his MBA at the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania).
Ethan Sprague SVP of Sales, Marketing, & Policy
Ethan serves as the SVP of Sales, Marketing, & Policy of FreeWire. Ethan provides leadership for day-to-day operations of the sales, marketing, and regulatory teams while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals, which include revenue growth, go-to-market strategy, brand awareness, and vertical expansion. Prior to joining FreeWire, Ethan held sales management, business development, and regulatory policy positions in several energy-related companies, including Kevala, Inc., Spruce (Formerly Clean Power Finance), NRG Residential Solar Solutions, and Sunrun. He holds a B.A. in Law and Politics from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University.
Lisa Grant VP of Strategic Initiatives
Lisa serves as the VP of Strategic Initiatives of FreeWire. Lisa brings over 20 years of experience developing and implementing sound financial processes and building results-oriented teams. Prior to joining FreeWire, she served as the VP of Finance at Enphase Energy. Lisa was also the VP of Business Services and VP, Corporate Controller of Riverbed Technology, Inc. where she was responsible for worldwide accounting, business process improvement, SEC reporting, and finance acquisition integration. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Controller and Senior Director of Corporate Accounting at Oracle. Earlier in her career, Lisa held various positions at Arthur Andersen LLP. Lisa holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
Nick Seroff VP of Research
Nick serves as the VP of Engineering of FreeWire. He brings over 30 years of design and management expertise from the computer system and semiconductor industries. Prior to joining FreeWire, Nick was at Western Digital Corporation, where he was part of the enterprise storage products leadership team, responsible for strategy and future products. Before WDC, Nick was a key contributor to the design and architecture teams at several semiconductor companies, including NXP, GV and Fairchild Semiconductors. He also worked in Apple Inc.’s mobile phone division. Nick holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara, College of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Executive Education training from Harvard Business School. He holds 21 US and international patents.
Tamara Mecham VP of HR & Talent
Tamara serves as the Vice President of HR & Talent at FreeWire. Tamara brings over 15+ years of Human Resources experience with a particular focus on companies with accelerated growth. She specializes in leadership development, talent management & development, people operations, and culture & engagement. At FreeWire, Tamara is focused on building and leading a Human Resources organization that will bring FreeWire into its next phase of our growth while putting its most valuable asset – its people – first.
Mark Hanna VP of Operations
Mark serves as the VP of Operations of FreeWire. He brings extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, including quality improvement, cycle-time improvement, as well as process development and implementation utilizing lean principles and best practices. Prior to joining FreeWire, he was Senior Director of Operations at Flextronics, where he increased his division’s annual revenue by 150%. Previously, Mark was Director of Manufacturing for Nanosolar, where he was responsible for ramping up cell manufacturing operations for mass production, and Senior Manufacturing and Operations Manager for Credence Test Systems, where he led operations for the Diagnostics/Calibration Division.
Elaine Wu VP of Strategic Sourcing & Logistics
Elaine is an accomplished US and International sourcing and procurement leader with expertise in developing and delivering end-to-end sourcing/procurement strategies, processes, and systems in alignment with changing operational needs. She’s passionate about identifying savings opportunities, minimizing risks, and building and leading high-performing teams and large-scale complex projects.
Dave Jones VP of Finance
David serves as the VP of Finance of FreeWire, responsible for FP&A and Treasury at the company. David brings extensive experience developing Finance functions and helping companies grow and scale quickly. Prior to joining FreeWire, he held various Finance leadership roles at Riverbed Technology, most recently as VP, Sales Finance, where he managed the worldwide team supporting Sales, Sales Operations, Support and Services Organizations. David was also the VP, Corporate FP&A, at Riverbed where he helped build and lead the FP&A team. Earlier in his career, David held various Finance positions at multiple tech companies, including three years in Global Functions Finance at HP. David holds a BA from Washington & Lee University and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Susie Monson VP of Customer Success & Support
Susie serves as VP of Customer Success and Solutions for FreeWire. Prior to FreeWire, Susie has spent 25+ years in leadership positions in Customer Service, Operations, and Finance at high-growth early-stage companies, including Sunrun and PayCycle. At FreeWire, she is focused on leading our efforts to support our diverse customers in achieving their EV charging goals. Susie holds a BA in Economics from Pomona College and an MBA from Stanford University.
Jameson Dequinia VP of Sales
Jameson serves as VP of Sales North America for FreeWire. Prior to joining FreeWire, Jameson spent 15+ years in leadership roles in Sales, Customer Experience, and Product for renewable energy companies such as Sunrun and Elevation. At FreeWire, Jameson is focused on developing sales talent, growing sales channels, and executing the sales plan. Jameson holds a BS in Biochemistry from UC Santa Barbara with an emphasis in computer science.
Umit Demir VP of Software Engineering
Umit serves as the VP of Software Engineering for FreeWire. He brings over 20 years of software development and engineering management experience from the digital media and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining FreeWire, Umit was at Triax, an industrial IoT start-up, where he led firmware and software development teams. Before Triax, he oversaw the global software engineering group at Verizon Media developing programmatic advertising platforms for a digital media business with over $1B in annual revenue. Umit also developed mobile software at Motorola and managed product engineering teams at several mobile software start-ups across the globe. He holds a B.S. degree from Bilkent University and M.S. degree from George Washington University, both in Electrical Engineering.
Alex Fishkin Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel
Alex is an accomplished business and legal executive with broad experience advising both public and private global technology businesses. Prior to FreeWire, Alex held Chief Legal Officer positions at Luminar Technologies Inc., maker of automotive sensing and perception technology, and Momentus Inc., a space transportation business. At these companies, Alex built world-class legal teams and steered the scaling of operations and key business partnerships. Earlier in his career, Alex led various legal efforts at Google, and prior to that, he counseled a wide variety of technology companies in private practice, both at BigLaw and at boutique law firms. Before entering the legal profession, Alex held various engineering positions at a number of major technology companies. Alex holds a JD from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he is also currently an Adjunct Professor, teaching several courses on emerging technologies. Alex also has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Rich Steele Chief Engineer
Rich is a Co-Founder and serves as the Chief Engineer of FreeWire. Prior to joining FreeWire, Rich worked in the lithium-ion battery industry, developing and managing pack technologies at Leyden Energy ahead of its acquisition by A123 Systems. His previous roles included several years in aerospace testing missile and satellite components, as well as designing and building a general payload system that flew on every U.S. space shuttle mission. In addition, Rich spent several years in biotech designing, testing and manufacturing various Class II medical devices. He holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from DeVry University, with a focus on electronics, physics, and free space optics.
Joe Whitty VP, Corporate Controller
Prior to joining FreeWire Technologies, Whitty served as the Corporate Controller for Aurora, a leading self-driving technology company. During his tenure at Aurora, Whitty played a key role in the company’s successful public offering via a SPAC merger. He also served as the accounting lead for Aurora’s acquisition of Uber’s self-driving unit, which helped position the company as a major player in the autonomous vehicle market. Before his time at Aurora, Whitty held finance leadership positions at Moovweb, Amalfi Semiconductor and Ikanos Communications, where he gained extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting, and strategic planning. He began his career as a Senior Manager in KPMG’s audit practice, where he worked with clients across a range of industries and developed a strong foundation in accounting and auditing.
John Seabury VP of Advanced Technology
John serves as the VP of Advanced Technology for FreeWire. He brings over 40 years of control system design, circuit design, and management experience in the data storage and semiconductor industries. In the AT group at Maxtor, John led the team that delivered key technology including the self-servo capability, considered one of the biggest process improvements in the company’s history. He has helped launch a number of startup companies including Storage Genetics, which pioneered capacity enhancements in flash memory and was later purchased by Micron Technology. John holds 13 US patents and has a degree in Math and Physics from Hartwick College in New York.
