FreeWire Technologies, the leading provider of battery-integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and energy management solutions, has deployed a new Boost Charger at a Chevron fuel station in Mountain View, CA. In celebration of the Clean Air Month of May, FreeWire will offer free ultrafast charging for two weeks, from May 22nd to June 5th. During this time, customers can experience the new technology and receive a free charge.
“The global shift to EVs is an important step towards reducing air pollution and mitigating the impacts of climate change,” said Ethan Sprague, SVP of Sales, Marketing and Policy at FreeWire. “Accessible public EV charging infrastructure plays a vital role in facilitating this transition by providing convenient, easy-to-use rapid charging options for EV drivers. By expanding public EV charging options, we can help eliminate range anxiety, encourage EV adoption, and utilize lower-cost renewable resources. With the increasing deployments of FreeWire’s battery-integrated EV charging solutions, we are committed to accelerating the shift to sustainable transportation and creating a cleaner, greener future for all.”
The Boost Charger is a battery-integrated ultrafast charger, and is conveniently located along a major highway and next to an In-and-Out restaurant. A single EV can charge at 150 kW, or two EVs can charge simultaneously at 75 kW. FreeWire’s energy requirements are nearly 10x lower than traditional chargers, reducing peak energy demand, saving grid strain and providing lower-cost power. The battery-integrated design allows for reduced demand charges and more efficient energy usage.
“We hope this free trial will bring awareness to more drivers of their charging options and demonstrate our commitment to accelerating electrification,” said Sprague. “One of the best ways for people to recognize Clean Air Month is to drive a zero-emissions vehicle.”
