NEWARK, CA – FreeWire Technologies, the leading provider of battery-integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and energy management solutions, welcomes Jameson Dequinia, VP of Sales; Umit Demir, VP of Software Engineering; and Joe Whitty, VP Corporate Controller to FreeWire’s Leadership Team. The recent additions come amidst strong and consistent demand for EV charging and energy storage infrastructure and will support FreeWire’s continued growth both in the US and internationally.

“Joe, Jameson, and Umit are strong additions to the FreeWire Team. They each bring extensive experience in their respective fields and will help push FreeWire into its next stage as a company,” said Arcady Sosinov, CEO and Founder of FreeWire. “With their unique skill sets and diverse backgrounds, these new hires will help us continue to innovate and address an influx in demand for EV charging.

As VP of Software Engineering, Umit Demir’s primary focus will be supporting and adding functionality to AMP, FreeWire’s back-end software offering for EV charging and energy management. He brings over 20 years of software development and engineering management experience from the digital media and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining FreeWire, Umit led firmware and software development teams at Triax, an industrial IoT start-up. He also oversaw the global software engineering group at Verizon Media developing programmatic advertising platforms for a digital media business with over $1B in annual revenue.

As Vice President of Sales, Jameson Dequinia’s primary focus will be to lead the North American sales team as they navigate an influx of inbound requests following the availability of incentive programs like the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program, among others. Dequinia has over 15 years of experience leading sales teams and driving revenue for high-growth renewable energy companies, including Sunrun and Elevation. With a proven track record of success in developing and executing go-to-market strategies for early-stage companies, Dequinia has been instrumental in scaling businesses from startups to billion-dollar enterprises.

Joe Whitty joins Freewire as VP Corporate Controller and will oversee the financial reporting and accounting functions of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and timely delivery of financial information to the management team and stakeholders. Prior to joining FreeWire, Whitty served as the Corporate Controller for Aurora (NASDAQ: AUR), a leading self-driving technology company. During his tenure at Aurora, Whitty played a key role in the company’s successful public offering via a SPAC merger. He also served as the accounting lead for Aurora’s acquisition of Uber’s self-driving unit, which helped position the company as a major player in the autonomous vehicle market.

In just the last 12 months, FreeWire has increased its headcount by 70% and deployed Boost Chargers™ in five new countries. The company recently acquired Mobilyze.ai, a predictive location and financial analysis platform, to help customers evaluate their eligibility for incentive opportunities like the NEVI Program and the Energy Storage Investment Tax Credit.
